If others have shared files and folders with you, then you will see those files and folder in 'Shared with me'. These files and folders will not sync to Google Drive folder on your computer unless you add them to 'My Drive' or individual folders which you have synced.

- Make sure you are connected to the internet.
- Click 'Google Drive' icon on your computer. If you are using Mac, then you will see the icon located in the menu bar at the top right of your desktop screen. If you are using PC, then you will see the icon located in the task bar in the bottom right of your desktop screen.
- Click '3 vertical dots' icon located at the top right corner the screen.
- Select 'Preferences' option.
- Click 'Visit Shared with me' button.
- A 'Shared with me' in Google Drive on the web page opens up.
- Drag and drop files and folders from 'Shared with me' into 'My Drive' which you have synced.

Google Drive File Stream Sync
Note: Google Drive sync support ended in December of 2017, but only because they moved to Google Backup and Sync. According to Google, there are two first-party ways to access Drive files on your desktop and keep them in sync across your devices: Drive File Stream is best for most organizations (Google explains why). Each time drive application is opened it scans for new files it has missed out to sync. So our app will be automating this, it will be restarting gDrive application every 5 minutes and hence triggering file sync and keeping contents as fresh as possible.
One Drive Sync Folder Location
- Select the folder in Shared with me on a computer, then press Shift + Z. You can then add the folder to My Drive. You can sync folders in My Drive with your computer by using Backup & Sync.
- Please be aware that for Drive File Stream, if you have edit access for a Team Drive (or any files shared within a Team Drive), you can currently only view these files in Drive File Stream. To edit the files, you must access them in Drive on the web. If a user is running both Drive File Stream and Backup and Sync on the same machine, they'll be prompted to stop syncing My Drive with Backup.
